About the Breed: Currently a rare variety in the US, the Scottish Highland beef breed is growing in popularity due to its excellent quality and richly flavored beef. Highland cattle are medium in size, with cows weighing 900 to 1,300 pounds and bulls 1,500 to 2,000 pounds. Highland beef is ideal for stocking up in your freezer.
At Purdy Neat Place we are establishing a breeding pattern designed to preserve integrity of the breed. We are first generation beef growers, and have our own registered cows and bulls. We utilize an all-natural breeding program. Our herd accesses farm pastures for fresh grass on a rotational pasture feeding program.
Considered extensions of our family, our cattle are handled by Barb and Paul daily. As a result, are comfortable around people in general, and make a prime choice for hobbyists who'd like to raise them on their family back yard farm.
